Cave Explorer Camp
The perfect camp for those wanting to explore a unique and different side of nature! We wonder deep into some of the most beautiful geological sites in Australia and learn about rock formations, caving and fossil sites from thousands of years ago and even see the famous Blue Lake which is within an extinct volcano! This south-eastern adventure is sure to amaze!
Our journey to Naracoorte Caves is a nice 3.5 hours scenic drive, with our first stop at the river-side town of Murray bridge, we have lunch beside the water before driving on to setup our campsite at the beautiful Naracoorte Caves campground! After our official meet and greet, we head to Coonawarra wine region for a wine tasting and wine tour! Dinner is served back at camp under the stars.
Breakfast is served, before we make our way to our first cave exploration. We follows this up with a beautiful chef-prepared lunch. We then make our way to Mount Gambier district, visiting Cave Gardens, the Blue Lake (within an extinct volcano) as well as a naturally formed ‘sinkhole’ and Centenary tower lookout. By this time, you will be craving our big dinner back at campsite! You won’t be able to resist our meals – Halal, vegan, vegetarian… all can be catered for !
Today we have another cave walk-through adventure! We have expert guides helping explain the geology and answering any of your questions. We squeeze in a big lunch before starting our campsite packup and making our way back to Adelaide. If we have time, we can stop by Hahndorf Town, take a look at a fossil gathering site or have some ball games at a park… majority’s decision wins!
