Our Mt Gambier Caves Camp allows students to explore a unique and exciting side of nature they would not find in Adelaide! We wonder deep into some of the most precious geological sites in Australia and learn about rock formations, caves and fossil sites that made helped classify the Naracoorte Caves as ‘World Heritage’. Of course we even get to Mt Gambier’s main attractions such as the Blue Lake, Cave Gardens, Umpherston Sinkhole, Centenary Tower and much more!

Our journey to Naracoorte Caves is a nice 3.5 hours scenic drive, with our first stop at the river-side town of Murray bridge, we have lunch beside the water before driving on to setup our campsite at the beautiful Naracoorte Caves campground! After our official meet and greet, we head to Coonawarra wine region for a wine tasting and wine tour! Dinner is served back at camp under the stars.
Breakfast is served, before we make our way to our first cave exploration. We follows this up with a beautiful chef-prepared lunch. We then make our way to Mount Gambier district, visiting Cave Gardens, the Blue Lake (within an extinct volcano) as well as a naturally formed ‘sinkhole’ and Centenary tower lookout. By this time, you will be craving our big dinner back at campsite! You won’t be able to resist our meals – Halal, vegan, vegetarian… all can be catered for !
Today we have another cave walk-through adventure! We have expert guides helping explain the geology and answering any of your questions. We squeeze in a big lunch before starting our campsite packup and making our way back to Adelaide. If we have time, we can stop by Hahndorf Town, take a look at a fossil gathering site or have some ball games at a park… majority’s decision wins!
