Narnu Farm Experience

Narnu Farm hosts a variety of School Camp programs. You can choose a Farm Camp, Eco Camp, or Extra School Camp Activities that can be aligned with your school curriculum.

The Farm Camp experience allows students to see what it’s like to live on a farm back in the old days. Children get the chance to do horse riding, farm animal feeding, and see the chicken hatchery. There are also activities such as hand ploughing, blacksmithing demos, milk and butter making, and vintage truck rides. Animals Anonymous will also be present to entertain children with an educational wildlife show. The Farm Camp is available for a 1-night or 2-night option.

Their Eco Camp program was launched 3 years ago to provide students with outdoor adventures. This two-night camp can accommodate up to 60 students. Your group can do kayaking, interpretive walks, exploring the Coorong ocean beach, lessons in fish ecology, and wilderness survival. Just like the Farm Camp, you get to do horse riding, farm animal feeding, and vintage truck rides.

The Narnu Farm Team also offers activities outside of the farm. They can take you on a trip to the South Australian Whale Centre, which includes a one-hour educational session, guided tour, and bus transfers. You can purchase the Whale Education Pack to learn a systematic approach in teaching students about whales. This Whale Centre option can be added onto your Farm Camp program, and can accommodate up to 50 students.

They also offer Learn to Surf, which are surfing lessons that can last between 1.5 to 2 hours. You can choose this option in your 2-night program, and can accommodate up to 50 students. Students get to learn how to handle surfboards and try their hands at surfing. All equipment will be provided. Besides surfing, students will be taught about sun awareness, coastal preservation, and the importance of having a low environmental impact.

Narnu Farm also has specific activities for children. Horse riding can be arranged for children 3 years old and up. There is also a complimentary animal feeding program that kids can do twice a day. A chicken hatchery can also be visited where youngsters can see chicks coming out of their shells, or hold these little chicks for themselves. They also have a nature play space where children can go out and play.

For group accommodations, they have a bunkhouse which is at the activity heart of Narnu Farm. It is within walking distance to animal feeding, horse riding, tennis court, and truck ride facilities. They have six rooms with 54 single beds in total. The bunkhouse also has a large commercial kitchen, BBQ area, fireplace, table tennis, movie projector, and bathroom facilities.

The farm also provides catering for school camps. They have menus for 1 Night 2 Day and 2 Night 3 Day camps. You can indicate any special dietary needs of your students – whether they have nut allergies, lactose intolerance, coeliac, egg allergies, or follow a vegetarian diet. They have a dishwasher and farm staff to take care of the dishes.

The extra camp activities will be added on top of your basic camp package. So do check the activities you want to get, and how it adds up to your total booking fee. Everything is added up from the number of students, catering, accommodations, and activities.
