Business Unit Manager

Summary:
There are no ‘apprenticeships’ in business – but this is as close as you’ll get! Position Description:

Aussie Journeys attributes it’s main revenue to self-drive bus hire and privately booked wine tours. Your primary goal will be to:

  • Increase revenue by 120K in the first 12 months, by digitally marketing our new 18-35 focused tours for international uni students and backpackers.
  • making sure our bus fleet is always up to date with their scheduled mechanical servicing
 

You’ll be working alongside our Students Explore Australia (SEA) team that connects young people to nature through school camps and study tours.  Having said that, you’ll be responsible for the Aussie Journeys brand success, with the support of the General Manager to mentor you and guide your decision making process.

Day to day duties include:

  • working on digital marketing campaigns (google adwords, social media paid ads, organic content and more)
  • leading our website maintenance team, and contributing content to the website
  • physically cleaning buses
  • customer service on the phone, via email and in person
  • working via Asana project management software
 

You’ll be coached in the following areas:

  • systemisation and documentation that enables scaling
  • tracking financial metrics that are crucial for growth
  • digital marketing strategies for different audiences and services
  • asset management – maintaining our bus fleet
  • team leadership, as you’ll eventually be in charge of Aussie Journeys staff
  • 4x professional development days per year with Entrepreneurs Organisation focusing on Cash, Strategy, People and Execution
 

Personal Requirements:

  • You are highly organised and disciplined
  • You are adaptable
 

Technical Requirements:

  • A basic understanding of digital marketing
  • Willing to get a bus license (we can pay for the license)
  • Physically fit

Renumeration: $55k – $65K per annum
